Labor Day Weekend

Every Labor Day, my family has a family reunion at Lake Martin. My Grandmother rents a small conference center (Burke Cove), that will accommodate all 35 or so of us. We always have a blast, and love swimming, boating, eating, watching football, and just plain being loud together!

This year, Troy found out that there was a hot air baboon festival at Calloway Gardens (which is only about 1.5 hours from where we were). So we dragged the kids out of bed at 4am (and they BOTH stayed awake). to drive over.

This is the moment when we heard the lady over the loud speaker say that it was too windy for the balloons to fly. Big Bummer! But, we had a blast anyway. There was a ton to do there!
Some of the balloons did inflate for a short time, and we were able to watch them as they were tethered to the ground...

The wind made them do this...

Finally most of them had to deflate...

Always on the look out for bugs!

The beach there is great. Well manicured...

The cuteness was also astounding!

This was, perhaps, my favorite part... Glory...

Green Beans...

Snap Peas...

Old Ford Tractor

Our attempt at a family picture...

Jesus lives on a farm, I am sure of it. I could live here too...

Pretty cool that she was wearing her butterfly shirt that day...

Then back to the lake for family fun!

Emily was quite smitten with cousin Samantha...

My family also threw a mini-shower for me and Ben. Now I will be able to get Ben the car seat that I have been wanting. Thank you all for such a generous gift! Love you and miss you when we are apart!
