My sweet Emily Bear. My "hard worker" (her name sake), worked for an accomplished one of the most difficult task to date. In the program we are enrolled in called Classical Conversations, we learn a ton of memory work. We studied over 400 pieces of information this year, including the timeline from creation to current day. In January, we were all given the opportunity to sign-up to become a "memory master" , a lofty goal and I encouraged her to at least attempt it, once I realized she was interested. I explained that she would have to "own it" and be willing to go over the work when I saw fit. She was a trooper ya'll! The last two weeks before the proofing process, she went over this information at nausieum! When it was time to proof, she has to recite all information for Troy, without missing more than 3 in each area. She missed a total of three overall. Her second proof, with me only allowed for 1 miss in each area, which she astoundingly only missed 2 total. Third and final full proof, required 100% proficiency (it was ok to get stumbled and come back to an area or question, but she could not completely miss one. She came through with flying colors! The last proof was with our CC Director. It was a "spot" check, where she was only asked 25% of the information in each subject, also requiring 100% accuracy. The proofing process took over 4 hours total. But SHE DID IT! We told her before she began the proofs, that we were so proud of her for attempting this and trying so hard. We explained that the accomplishment was actually being achieved during the studying and she would remember this information for a very long time. Because of all of her hard work, we rewarded her by taking her to the Georgia Aquarium! When she passed all of her proofs, we took her for a milkshake!! Ben played 4 games of baseball total this year (it has been quite rainy), and has loved it. I think it has really improved his self-confidence.
Easter weekend included easter egg hunts, family friends and food!
We went to see Robin Hood at the Children s Theater. The kids were inspired.

And that's it folks. April wrapped up school, and May will be spent relaxing and gearing up for next school year. Reading books, and relaxing by the pool!
