Troy and I fell in love with this organization in the fall. If you know my husband, you know how very much he loves water. So the thought of not having clean drinking water, is near and dear to him. Neverthirst goes into areas like Sudan, India, and Central African Republic to drill wells, through the local churches there, so that, people can get clean drinking water, and ultimately hear about the water that will keep them from thirsting again.
A few weekends ago they had a "walk 5k so they don't have to" event. We went with the kids and walked 5k. It took us 1.5 hours, b/c we had several "pit" stops (I imagine that the women of these villages had similar experiences). This is the average distance that people in these areas walk, in order to get water for their families everyday, and even then, the water is not clean. Not only do they walk this distance,but half way they have to carry the water back with them! It was pretty eye opening to me.
But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:16-20
