A Christmas Tradition (Christmas Eve)

For the last three years we have spent Christmas Eve at the Ross's. The Brookin's clan is always in attendance as well. The first year Cheryl said "Come have Christmas Eve dinner at our house, we always have The Brookin's, The Tippett's, and another random couple every year". So we joked all night about being the "random couple" that year. :)

This year the Tippett's had dinner at their house, so we missed them, but sadly, we were without one other person. The main ingredient, since it was her house. Cheryl, as you all know is in New Zealand. In her honor, we had steaks and wine (she does not eat red meat). :) We did get to talk to her on Skype, which was fun. Rob (Cheryl's brother), and his wife Janine were able to join us this year, which was fun!
Funny side story. I joked that we should have steaks, since Cheryl was not going to be there. As fate would have it, there was a rain storm that came through exactly the same time Nate was going to put the steaks on. Then the grill would not work. He had to take the steaks to the Brookin's house to grill them, and bring them back. He handled it like a pro. The food was great!
